Turtle Hills Farm believes that every wedding or event is unique and deserves uniquely designed floral arrangements that represents the personality, style, and aesthetics of each event or individual.
When your wedding day has arrived we have all ready spent 3 days preparing for your big day. We like to take our time, not feel rushed and enjoy the process of creating.
I love working with event planners. I it makes my job easier and takes a lot of stress off the bride, however, if you would like help with design don't hesitate to ask.
My Signature is lush, loose, and garden style using a lot of branches and trailing greenery. I love the untamed look of nature rather than following a strict form. I like to make my designs look as if they were still growing in the field.
I'm self taught, however I attend a lot of in-person design classes to stay informed of new trends and design techniques. I'm not afraid to try new ideas like mixing fresh blooms with dried blooms, or adding fruit and vegetables to my arrangements.
I'm in love with texture, variety and color. Especially texture. I have 5 criteria that have to be meant in each item I arrange: Texture, lush, air, color, contrast
I will go back and forth between the words "vessel" and "vase" because I love piling beautiful blooms from our farm into unexpected, often one-of-a-kind, containers. Especially handmade pottery.
Above all I am a flower fanatic. I will spend hours looking for just the right bloom.
I get so excited when I come across an intriguing shade and flower I haven't seen, or that one strange branch that will deliver the "wow-effect".
I look forward to working with you and what I can create. CONGRATULATIONS!
We find the most beautiful blooms for you - whether that is from our farm, local flower farms, or from farms across the globe.
You have the options of using only THF blooms, a combination of our blooms and sourcing out, or souring it all out. We encourage you to use our blooms when possible. Our growing season is May - September. You invite you and your fiance to come to the farm for a date night to pick your own florwers.
I really prefer to "talk colors" and find the best blooms based on seasonal availability and quality. Sometimes the exact flower that you may want may not be in season and will be substituted for something similar in color and size. It may be out of season and very costly. Having said that, if there is a flower you really don't like, please let me know. I would hate to disappoint you.
GET YOUR DATE SAVED! This the most important step of the entire process.
Even if you don't know what you want. There are only so many weekends in a year and we want to work with you.
I prefer to initially work with the bride. I want to personally get to know you., what you want, and what you expect.
Once you contact us, an initial inquiry email will be sent to get specifics on the date, venue, colors, Pinterest links and photos, etc.
We ask for a non-refundable 25% which will be applied to the final invoice, once the date is confirmand.
After your date is confirmed, I'll start working on a mood board. There may be several to choose from as this helps us both narrow down color choices, style, and personality. We may talk over the phone to get more specific. We do not need to meet at this point.
When color choices are settled, I'll send an estimate.
About 45 days before your wedding date, we will meet in person or over the phone - depending on the service - to go over every detail. This is your last chance to make changes.
Your final payment will be 3 weeks from you wedding date.
The flower order including reserving field flowers is made 3 weeks out from your wedding date.
Don't worry if you have not heard from me after the estimate is approved. I will not forget about you. A lot of planning goes on behind the scenes is taking place. You can always reach out to me.
